munay: unconditional love
This one has been spoken of a LOT, even if it is seldom applied and sparingly experienced. Love is the essential cohesive power that holds the universe in place. It is a high vibration that we all hunger for in a deep, essential way. Real love, true unconditional is clean, unattached, unambiguous, expansive and liberating. It is founded on the recognition that there is no ‘other’, no ‘out there’, no difference, no separation.  Oneness.

   ayni: sacred reciprocity

Ayni is interwoven with Munay and vice versa.  Ayni is the core ‘knowing’ that we live suspended in a continuous sacred interchange with everything that is.  To live in Ayni is to live consciously in a deep understanding that we cannot ‘take’ without giving something of ourselves in exchange. And not just with our fellow humans, but with everything else that interconnects in our lives. EVERYTHING ELSE. When we breathe we are in Ayni, there is no inbreath without an outbreath.  We flow through our lives surrounded by energies that move in and out of us. Our water, our food, our relationships, our work – all of these are steeped in exchange.  To awaken to this is to become completely responsible Conscious reciprocity means to be awake. Now. In every instant.

  

The Munay Ki Rites assist us to live in Ayni.
These initiations (energetic transmissions) allow us to begin healing the wounds of the past: unresolved and unhealed childhood trauma, ancestral, genetic and karmic experiences. They have been given to us to begin our awakening out of separation and pain, into a new and co-created world where oneness, peace and harmony are recognized and embraced. It is only by healing all of the anger and pain buried within us that we can then effect and perceive the healing mirrored in the world outside of ourselves.

These initiations open us up to begin this process of healing. This process operates beyond the levels of the body, the mind or the emotions. These transmissions are energetic and work on the Level of Spirit. Working at this level brings balance and healing to all other levels.

What are the origins of Munay Ki?

The Munay Ki Rites are the shamanic initiations and teachings of the Laika, the Inka shamans of Peru. They claim that the new shamans now must come from the West.  It is believed that at this time of humanity’s evolution, there is a quickening and an urgent need to raise the vibration of the planet.  Towards this purpose, the initiations were sent out into the world to assist in the upliftment of humanity. 
Alberto Villoldo, a medical anthropologist travelled to South America to research the medicine and healing ways of the indigenous peoples of the Andes and the Amazon jungles. So began a twenty five year long apprenticeship that resulted in the gifting of these great teachings to the world.

Is it a recent combination of old ideas or does it have a long history as is?

Both. The Munay Ki remain faithful to the Andean teachings yet have also been packaged so as to be easily adopted by Westerners. The Munay Ki provide a wonderful entry portal for those who want to explore this rich
and deep spirituality. They provide the initiate with a complete package of shamanic teachings that can be used to steer our lives into creative and empowered directions. These teachings offer healing, direction and
substance to our lives. If we desire to further our understanding or wish to walk the path of the paqo ourselves then the Munay Ki offer us a wonderful “base camp” from which we can enter, explore and imbibe from
the astoundingly simple and beautiful world of shamanic spirituality.

Where is Munay Ki practiced?

It is practiced all over the world.  There are many initiated people who are in turn initiating their friends and family, assisting them even as they further themselves along their own spiritual journeys.

What skills will workshop participants gain?

Although primarily it is for ones own personal healing and growth, you will also learn to give the Rites to others.  Learning about your own energy, how to grow the spirit seeds of the Rites that have been planted within your luminous energy field, how to clear the heavy energy that has built up over time in your chakras and in your field, how to deepen and truly feel your connection with the earth and with nature, how to understand, work with and grow your relationship with the five elements that form and inform your being, how to sharpen your visionary skills and live from an alignment of head and heart are just some of the gifts of the Munay Ki journey.

Does this workshop train people to become practitioners, or is it more a process of individual personal empowerment?

Both. For some it may simply be a tool to help them grow and heal. Others will want to go beyond personal growth and healing. They will be able to bring what they learn to start or enhance their healing practice. Whatever one's path, the initiations and the accompanying training will enhance the lives of those who are keen to drink from the deep inner well of knowing, wisdom and beauty.

What are the practical benefits of being initiated?

The paqo are very practical in their approach to spirituality. They have a saying: “If it does not grow corn, of what use is it?” Here's how the Munay Ki will help you to 'grow corn'. It will enhance your existing skills, understanding and healing applications enormously. The Munay Ki teachings are a gift that will bless every aspect of your life.  It serves to connect you to the earth in such a way that your belief in an abundant universe and a benevolent mother comes from a direct knowing and not just from the level of the mind.  It will change the way you perceive yourself, your life and your world.  This change of perception is a liberation from limited ways of living and loving. 

What are the long-term benefits?

The best long term benefit is the sense of happiness and enthusiasm for life that arises and stays.  A wonderful knowing that it is you that has courageously dreamed it into reality through your own intent and the innate power of creation that is available to each and every one of us.

These initiations are offered to you to assist you on your journey towards mastery. Here is a list of the nine initiation rites followed by important information about the history and emergence into the West of these sacred rites.

The Nine Initiation Rites of the Munay Ki are:

RITE 1 – HEALERS RITE
The Healers Rite is an energetic transmission that activates a deep undercurrent of healing energy that gives us the ability to heal ourselves and others.

RITE 2 – BANDS OF POWER RITE
The Bands of Power Rite installs essential protection in the luminous energy field. The protections consist of 5 luminous belts (earth, water, fire, air and light) woven into the fabric of your own energy field. These energies either break down any negative energies coming towards us and then uses that energy to serve us instead of harming us or they deflect the negative energies away from us They are continuously activated.

RITE 3 – HARMONY RITE
The four organizing principles of creation are planted as seeds into the four lower chakras and then the three archangels, luminous guardian beings into the three higher chakras. These seeds will serve to break down the psychic sludge and heavy energies, residues of traumas that have collected within your chakras from this lifetime and also from past lifetimes.

RITE 4 – SEERS RITE
Filaments of light are extended between the visual cortex in the back of the brain and the third eye and heart chakras. This Rite awakens the ability to see the invisible world (auras/energy). The seers rite enables us to be the Witness in our lives. The Seer is not identified with the seen.

RITE 5 – DAYKEEPERS RITE
The Daykeepers are the protectors of Mother Earth, the stewards of the feminine and guardians of the sacred altars of the earth …Stonehenge, Machu Piccu… This Rite brings healing to the feminine within us and strengthens our relationship with the Earth and to the Mother. It also allows us to access the power of the sacred altars for healing.

RITE 6 – WISDOMKEEPERS RITE
The Wisdomkeepers Rite helps us connect with and heal the masculine within ourselves and also helps us re-establish and restore our relationship to the Heavens and to the Father. They are the guardians of the sacred high mountains. This Rite assists us to step outside time and bring healing to the wounds of former lifetimes.

RITE 7 – EARTHKEEPERS RITE
Connects us to a lineage of Archangels that are the guardians of our solar system. The Earthkeepers come under the protection of these archangels and can summon their power to bring balance and healing to any situation. The Earthkeeper has stewardship of the Earth.

RITE 8 – STARKEEPERS RITE
The rite of the time to come anchoring us to the time after the great change foretold for the year around 2012. Our DNA begins to evolve into Homo-luminous. We acquire stewardship of the time to come. This Rite awakens the Christ and Buddha consciousness within us.

RITE 9 – CREATOR or SPIRIT RITE
Receiving this Rite awakens our God nature. After this Rite we acquire stewardship for all of creation from the smallest grain of sand to the largest cluster of galaxies. Awakens the ability to dream all of creation into being, we become the storyteller.

Dr Alberto Villoldo PhD, a medical anthropologist, left his laboratory at San Francisco State University and travelled to the Amazon to work with the medicine people of the rain forest. He ended up working with the last of the Inca, the Laika and over a duration of a 25 year long apprenticeship with them received the nine energetic transmissions or Initiation rites of the Laika. The ninth rite, the “Creator Rite” was transmitted for the first time in 2006 at the Holy Mountains in the Andes. Dr Villoldo was instructed to carry these Rites back to the West.

More than 30,000 years ago a people called the Laika travelled over the Himalayas, through China into Siberia, across the frozen Baring Straits and entered North America and settled into Central and South America. The current day Inka shamans – medicine men and women who are the keepers of the ancient Rites are the descendants of those original settlers. They have allowed the Rites to be taken out of their keeping and shared, because they believe that these energetic transmissions are needed by humanity now, to survive and evolve in this powerful time of transformation on our planet. The Rites offer a quickening of the process of healing the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of our being. The Laika are the custodians of the health and well-being of Pachamama, the earth, and they share the Rites with us to seeking our assistance in averting the destruction of life and of our beloved earth.

Each initiation Rite is a transformational energetic transmission. As mentioned before, the Munay Ki initiation rites are spirit seeds planted into our luminous energy field. After the Initiations, the fire ceremony is a very important part of the Munay Ki Rites. Performing the fire ceremony weekly will empower the Rite offering a deeper and quicker healing. The spiritual seeds received with each of the nine Rites are germinated by light, by fire. We grow these seeds by taking the warmth of the fire, the light of the sun into each of the energy centres in our body as appropriate to the initiation.

Each of the Rites will trigger a transformational journey that may bring up emotional, psychological and karmic issues for healing and resolution. It is important to process whatever comes up at the energetic level. There is no need to engage emotionally or mentally. We allow the energy to come up and process through without identifying, analyzing or engaging in any drama. Offering up what comes up to Spirit through the use of the fire ceremony is the most graceful way to move through the healing process.

The Earthkeepers know that there are four levels of understanding that need to be reached to awaken our God consciousness.
God/Spirit is outside of us.
God/Spirit is within us.
God/Spirit operates and works through us.
God /Spirit works as us.

The Munay Ki Initiation Rites helps us to begin to understand this, to know this at a cellular level. We are Spirit creating and dreaming our world into being. With this knowing anchored at the deepest energetic level, we begin to create a safe and sacred world for all.

I have tried a number of healing modalities and found pearls of wisdom in them all, however, Munay Ki seemed to tie everything together and provide the missing piece (peace).    Munay Ki is not just a transformative weekend workshop, it is a way of being.  In the past, I have found integrating teachings into daily living (on an ongoing basis) challenging, but Munay Ki workshop participants have the opportunity to re-initiate and practise the learning's on a weekly basis.   In my eyes, this is what set Munay Ki apart, along with the wonderful facilitators Claudio and Sa, the wisdom in the teachings and the new found joy and gratitude I have for all of creation.

I was first drawn to Munay Ki when it was mentioned in a book I was reading. When I googled it Claudio and Sa's  website Sacred Radiance came up and I decided to have a healing session first with Sa just to see how I connected. The healing session was very powerful and I was so impressed with Sa I then decided to go ahead and do the Munay Ki rites. I knew very little about Munay Ki but felt drawn to the basic concept. The healing, loving energy of my group was so supportive it was special to be a part of. While I did not know anyone else there over the next three weekends we all became so close. I love the shamanic ways of viewing the world. I like the ideas of luminous energy fields and connecting to an ancient lineage. Munay Ki is real medicine for the body, spirit and soul. It has given me so much more confidence and a sense of peace within myself. Mind you it is challenging when things come up but at least I look at that now as a chance to clear and do not feel the old resistance. I feel more a sense of peace in myself.  The singing lesson that I did this week is just the start of taking on things that I have always feared. Thank you Claudio and Sa for this beautiful experience and opening your sacred home with the beautiful relaxed energy you bring. You have created a space of comfort and safety. I feel blessed to have such wonderful teachers in my life.  Even though this has only been in my life for a few weeks I feel my life has been transformed by these wonderful rites and the connections I have made.

Munay Ki had always caught my attention but the timing was never right. The Universe suddenly cleared the path for me in October 2009 and I was able to attend the Munay Ki. I wasn't sure what it was all about but just felt drawn to the sacredness and the initiations from the Inca. I have been following my spiritual path now for about 10 years and have overcome many challenges within my life. Munay Ki allowed me to honour my path and to find my own sacredness within my self. Throughout each inititiation I was drawn to obstacles that were blocking my path to enlightenment. The Munay Ki has opened up pathways that may have seemed impossible before. Sa and Claudio have a gentle, nurturing, yet powerful way of allowing you to see your chosen path and to be the powerful light being that you are. I had no idea that when I got back to Perth, I would be looking for and find Sacred Radiance and, after only one session with Sa, was convinced that I had to do the Munay Ki. Therefore it was not a coincidence but it was an answer to a prayer. The Munay Ki has transformed me profoundly and Sa and Claudio are not just the teachers but the instruments of the light that comes from spirit. It was one year ago when I began receiving the nine initiations and the teachings of Munay Ki from Sa. I sit in reflection now in absolute awe and wonder at the amazing transformation that has occurred in all my worlds- in my relationships, in my work, in my physical, spiritual and emotional lives. I have easily found a space every day for the fire ceremonies; these have been and become the foundation for the transformation.
Suddenly the differences between the days I did my fire ceremonies and the days i didn’t began to become stark. Suddenly my world began to synchronize like a  well rehearsed script- it became almost laughable at how much flow and synchronicity continually flowed into my life. I was overwhelmed with a new energy, a new deep selfless love that never ran dry, a new compassion, a new connection to Mother Earth (I suddenly noticed trees, light, sunsets, sunrises, wind, birds, animals), a deep sense of purpose and many significant dreams and visions emerged. I had a clarity that I never had before …… my spirit awakened.
As I work very closely with twenty Indigenous boys from 12-18, I suddenly had so much more to offer them- i stopped giving of just ‘Lynn’ (very exhaustible)  and began drawing on these new energies from which I could love more deeply and serve more fully.(totally limitless)
My office is now an opened sacred space each day - it is incredible to work in this energy each day and for twenty of my students to sit in this energy each day.  I would now never dream of presenting in court or to Councils or meeting new families without having first done my fire ceremonies, especially my bands of protection and harmonizing rites. These more than any other rites for me are well used in my work and I have so many stories of the ways in which I can relate with hurting, angry, aggressive, sad people without personally being impacted upon by their negative energies.
Munay Ki has offered me a deeply satisfying way to live on Mother Earth, to connect to all living things and to love, love, love. I acknowledge and honor the Laika who shared these gifts with all of humankind and for the Wind of God who allowed it to move from the Andes to my little world in Perth.
